Ketamine alone can offer meaningful benefits, but we believe the experience can be even more impactful when paired with the support of a mental health professional.
At Golden Poppy Wellness, you will have a therapist-someone you have already met and established a connection with-present throughout your KAP session from start to finish.
Before ketamine is administered, your therapist will help you set an intention for your experience. During the session, they provide a safe, supportive presence and can offer grounding and reassurance if needed. Afterward, they will help you reflect on and begin integrating any insights, emotions, or experiences that arise during your journey.
We have seen time and time again how valuable this continuous therapeutic support can be. Our goal is to help you feel safe, supported, and intentional throughout the entire KAP experience-not simply during the ketamine experience itself.

Ketamine is a fast-acting dissociative anesthetic that is used in both medical and mental health settings. It works differently from traditional antidepressants by affecting the brain’s glutamate system. Ketamine can temporarily change how the brain processes thoughts, emotions, and sensory experiences. It may also help create new connections between brain cells, allowing the brain to become more flexible and less stuck in rigid or negative thought patterns.
Research has found ketamine to be helpful for individuals experiencing:
Ketamine has been used safely for many years as an anesthetic in medical and hospital settings, including with very young and medically fragile patients. As Sunny Strasburg explains, “The youngest babies in the NICU and the most fragile elderly patients in hospital are given even higher doses.”
Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy uses doses that are typically much lower than those used for general anesthesia. Your provider will carefully determine the appropriate dose for you and monitor you throughout your session.
At Golden Poppy Wellness, we offer ketamine through either IV administration or intramuscular injection (a small shot). You and your provider will discuss the options and determine which route is best for you.
Many people begin with a series of 4–6 sessions, generally scheduled about a week apart. Depending on your individual needs and response to treatment, booster sessions may be recommended every few months or when you feel additional support would be beneficial.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have over 15 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families, with a special interest in treating trauma, postpartum mental health disorders, and faith transitions.
I primarily utilize Somatic Experiencing®, and also include strategies from additional treatment methodologies, including Trauma-Informed CBT, parts work, ketamine assisted psychotherapy, and narrative therapy to create an individualized plan for each client. Somatic Experiencing® is a body-based psychobiological understanding of human beings that can provide a framework to naturally re-balance your nervous system. It combines naturally with ketamine assisted psychotherapy to help create and solidify new neural pathways for a better overall life experience.
I love to help clients discover their unique strengths, uncover new ways to align their values and behaviors, and create lasting change in their lives.
